How many treatment sessions are needed?

Generally, patients will require two to four sessions of scalp micropigmentation to receive the results they desire. Each session generally lasts between two to four hours. In between sessions, patients have to wait at least 10 days before having another session.

Is the procedure painful?

Most people who undergo scalp micropigmentation report minimal pain. While like with traditional tattoo, we use needles to inject the pigment into the scalp, however hair tattoos are much less painful than traditional tattoos since the needles are much smaller and we don’t go as deep into the epidermis. Patients won’t feel pain after scalp micropigmentation. Some soreness is to be expected, but the pain of this procedure is very little.

How long does it last?

The results can last anywhere between two to 6 years. Skin type, sun exposure, and chemicals impact the retention.

Will SMP damage my hair follicles or interfere with future hair growth?

The needle and pigment used in SMP do not penetrate deep enough to reach, or damage, the hair follicle. SMP can be used after a hair transplant to add the appearance of density in regions where the hair is still thin.

How much does Scalp Micropigmentation cost?

Our pricing is based on the level of hair loss, which is different for each client. Typically, the price ranges between $1,500- $3,500. We recommend setting up a free consultation. I can evaluate your case and provide a personalized price quote based on your hair loss needs. We also offer financing options if needed.

Do I need to take time off work?

Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. In most cases, you will not need to take any extended time away from work, school, or other functions. After treatment you may notice slight redness on the scalp for a day or two post session. This redness subsides quickly.Clients are also allowed to wear hats or headwear should they feel the need.

Will Scalp Micropigmentation work with gray hair?

Yes, most clients are recommended to cut their hair to a short buzzed length. When this is done, gray hair does not appear as gray because the hair root itself is darker. Hair only shows gray as it gets longer. Second, we use a gray-scale pigment that can be adjusted in shade to blend with lighter hair tones. We will create a lighter dilution for blending into the existing gray hairs.

Who decides on the construction of the hairline?

There are factors that determine what hairline is suitable for you. We tailor the hairline to your individual features in order to create the most natural and appropriate result. We also account for your personal preferences, as there is a range of options for what can look natural on any given person.

Will The Result Look Natural?
